Settings
The Settings menu — two switches. The application needs no more: everything functional is decided at the tool itself.
| Setting | Values | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Language | “as the operating system” or one of the nine languages | takes effect only after restarting the application. The dialogue says so as soon as something has actually been changed |
| Appearance | system, light, dark | takes effect at once |
Where this is stored
Section titled “Where this is stored”Both sit in settings.json in the user profile — on Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Invoiceflair\settings.json, on macOS accordingly. The
licence sits in the same file.
Writing is atomic: a crash mid-write leaves no half file — which would look like a licence error at the next start and would not be one. If the file is unreadable, the application starts with default values rather than not starting at all.
Only one instance at a time
Section titled “Only one instance at a time”The application starts only once. Two running instances would overtake each other in folder sync and process the same file twice.
What else sits in the user profile
Section titled “What else sits in the user profile”- the journal of folder sync, as a SQLite file next to
settings.json - if the start itself fails: a
boot-crash.login the same folder — the first file to look at when the application does not start at all
The application writes nothing next to the program files.
