Your own Word templates
The Own templates page (/en/account/templates). Uploaded .docx files appear in the template
selector when creating, alongside the supplied examples — which can be downloaded on the same page
and adapted as a starting point.
Limits

Placeholders
Section titled “Placeholders”Placeholders are Word content controls (SDT). What counts is their tag, not the text displayed. Unknown tags are left untouched.

filled per invoice line item. Available are Item.Number, Item.Name, Item.Description,
Item.Quantity, Item.Unit, Item.UnitPrice, Item.TaxPercent, Item.NetAmount.
This route cannot produce an accessible PDF
Section titled “This route cannot produce an accessible PDF”A Word template is filled and then converted to PDF. In the process — measured on 20 August 2026, even at level PDF/A-3a — an empty structure tree is written, with not a single tagged content element.
What else your own template costs
Section titled “What else your own template costs”It always goes through the Word detour and needs a licence for the PDF engine; without one the page reports “Creation failed”. The automatic layout without a template is unaffected. See Creating: output as XML or hybrid PDF.
