Language and speaking addresses
The language sits in the first path segment of the address — no cookie, no browser detection.
Each language has its own speaking addresses: /en/validate, /de/pruefen, /fr/verifier,
/es/validar.
The nine languages
Section titled “The nine languages”German, English, French, Italian, Finnish, Spanish, Polish, Dutch and Portuguese.
The globe in the header switches to the same page in the other language, not to the start page.
Calling / redirects permanently to /de.
Why the language sits in the address
Section titled “Why the language sits in the address”Because an address is then complete: you can pass it on, bookmark it or put it in a document, and it opens the same page in the same language everywhere. Language detection via a browser setting or a cookie would not have that property — the same link would look different to two people.
The language of the invoice is a separate matter
Section titled “The language of the invoice is a separate matter”The portal language governs the interface. Which language the visual layer of a hybrid PDF carries is chosen separately in the create form — eight languages are offered there, with “Same as page language” as the default. See Creating: output as XML or hybrid PDF.
File names follow the language too: the generated XML is called rechnung.xml, facture.xml and so
on — with FatturaPA, by contrast, it carries the name prescribed by the Italian SdI.
