Introduction: input, file limits, lifetime

This chapter describes the tools one by one: what each is for, what goes in, what comes out, which limits apply and what the messages mean. This page states up front what applies to all of them.

You reach the tools from the “Tools” tiles on the start page. The header carries no tool menu, only pricing, sign-in, the language selector and the light/dark switch; within a tool, the breadcrumb trail shows the way back.

Tool Accepted extensions
Validate, View .xml, .erb, .ubl, .cii, .p7m, .pdf — or paste XML straight into the text box
Convert .xml, .erb, .ubl, .cii, .edi, .txt, .json — or the text box; PDF is detected
Extract, PDF to e-invoice .pdf
Combine PDF field .pdf · XML field .xml, .erb, .ubl, .cii, .p7m
Batch processing .xml, .erb, .ubl, .cii, .p7m, several at once

Two extensions deserve an explanation: .erb is the download extension of the Austrian ERB portal (ebInterface XML), and .p7m a CAdES-signed file as the Italian SdI delivers it — the signature envelope is unpacked automatically.

Limit Default What happens
Upload per file 15 MB above that, rejection: “File is too large (max. 15 MB).”
“Large file” notice from 4 MB no rejection, merely a warning about the wait
Lifetime of a result page 30 minutes after that, “This result has expired or is unknown.”

In an Enterprise installation all three values are configurable; see Options: uploads, volumes and rate limiting.

Every tool follows the same pattern: submit → redirect → result page. The result page carries an identifier in its address and can be shared for as long as the result is held in memory.

From 4 MB the upload field announces the wait: “Large file (…). Processing may take a few minutes.” The file is accepted regardless. Do not reload the page while processing is under way.
